ILEX is the professional body representing around 24,000 qualified and trainee Legal Executives.
We provide a cost-effective way of obtaining law & legal practice qualifications without having to complete a law degree (although graduates of law or non-law subjects can still choose to become a lawyer using the ILEX route).
Completed units can be accumulated to achieve a career status ranging from paralegal/legal support staff to Legal Executive Advocates (Legal Executives with extended rights of audience). Courses can be tailored to fit an individual’s (or their employer’s) needs and circumstances.
We have a number of accredited centres offering our courses across the UK and it is also possible to complete the qualifications entirely via distance learning.
It is also possible to study units as stand alone qualifications. (This has proved popular with those not wishing to become qualified lawyers, but need some legal knowledge eg Level 3 or Level 6 Employment Law for HR staff).
Education levels of our courses range from Level 2 (NVQ) to Level 6 (Degree).
