Lesson in closing the deal

As viewers of the BBC’s hit programme, The Apprentice, will know, selling yourself in business is half the battle.  On Wednesday 16 May 2007, south Wales business woman, Helen Murdoch will teach VWBN members to hone their sales techniques to help close that all important deal and get results for their business.

With 25 years experience, chartered marketer and founder of innovative marketing consultancy HM Marketing Ltd, Helen knows what works and what gets results.

Helen said: “One of the biggest problems in business is not asking for what we want.  Often we are uncomfortable asking because we think we'll appear demanding or controlling.  But the truth is that when we ask for what we want, we take control and have a much higher chance of success.”

VWBN chair, Sian Rees, said: “Our members’ businesses are a combination of start ups as well as enterprises that are more established. Helen’s top tips for closing the deal apply to everyone, whether you’re starting from scratch or building upon success. We want to help our members hear those immortal words, “you’re hired!” more often and Helen can help make that happen.”

Through regular monthly events, the VWBN offers intending and existing businesswomen opportunities for exchanging experiences, support and practical solutions to everyday business problems. All VWBN events are opportunities for business networking in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

‘How to close the deal’ will take place on Wednesday 16 May at Cottrell Park Golf Club, 7.00pm to 9.00pm.  Tickets are priced £2.00 for VWBN member and £5.00 for non members. To book, email events@vwbn.org.uk
