Update: CL reader Rebecca Exley cut her work miles on the spur of the moment eight years ago, as she emailed to tell us. “At the end of the Christmas Holidays, I woke up one morning and decided to resign.”
Rebecca’s increasingly stressful commute from Cowbridge to Cardiff finally proved too much. A qualified hydrogeologist, she told her husband: “I still want to work but as long as it’s local I don’t care what I do.”
Rebecca now runs her own consultancy from home. She also helped set up the Vale Women’s Business Network (www.vwbn.org.uk). “The joys of walking my son to school are unbeatable,” Rebecca says.
